Description
Commercial tilapia & catfish farming with modern floating cages. The aquaculture project focuses on tilapia and catfish farming using floating cages in Lake Kivu and inland ponds. Rwanda currently imports over 15,000 tons of fish annually due to domestic shortages. This presents an opportunity for commercial aquaculture with guaranteed demand.
The project includes:
· Construction of floating cages and hatcheries.
· Fish feed production to reduce costs.
· Cold storage and distribution facilities.
· Partnerships with supermarkets, hotels, and cross-border markets (Uganda, DRC, Burundi).
